If you are as passionate about knowledge as I am then there is no limit to what you can learn, either as a student or even a teacher. You may even acquire verified certificates from almost any university in the world including but not limited to the prestigious Harvard, Yale, MIT, Hong Kong and more. In fact, your current degree or level of education does not matter as the only requirement for entry is a passion for knowledge and of course you can read and write, otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this.
In a bid to promote learning, a new system of learning was created called MOOC – Massive Open Online Course where anyone from anywhere in the world can learn any desired course for free from various participating universities worldwide or other institutions of learning and even earn certificates without having to be in those universities physically. This system was created to make learning easy and accessible to everyone as despite your location.
Gradually MOOC is becoming gradually popular but it is yet to fully permeate into our systems in this part of the world and other developing countries which is one of the reasons for writing this. In reality, some would-be scholars are sceptical of its acceptability, some are concerned about data consumption while some don’t even understand what it is all about yet. Well, I want to let you know it is something real and happening and worth being taken into consideration because it is worth every bit of your time as that is the major thing it will cost you.
MOOC system allows you to stay in the comfort of your own home (or wherever is most comfortable for you) and log on to the system to learn a chosen course or area of discipline ranging from normal school curriculum to Businesses, programming, engineering social media and management. You can even proceed further to earn yourself a degree (often called NANO Degree) and apply for job the same way you would if you had attended the school physically.
The system has been for a while but wider acceptance was not until around 2012 and ever since then it is gaining more popularity and relevance. There are over 100 MOOS providers worldwide as we speak here is a very few of them so you can try them out and yes, these ones are accessible for free and most of the courses are self-paced.
